Let me tell you why I love this photo.

It shows two children, from two different age groups. One is 4 years old the other 2 years old.
Both sitting side by side, in the same room, in the same part of the daily routine, they are both learning from one another. Both at their own pace, to their own potential. The 4 year old is being the role model the 2 year old is being inspired. Both children have had their capabilities nurtured and extended simultaneously, side by side.
This is how make mixed aged groups work. I am proud every day when I see the younger ones inspired by the older ones, and the older ones proud that they have helped teach the younger ones.
Mutual respect, tolerance, compassion and kindness are such important skills and character traits, children need to be exposed to as many different situations as possible to develop these.
