Ethos

At Little Hearts, we believe that Early Years Education, needs to be relaxed, play based and individual to the child. We treat every single child who walks through our doors with the highest respect and consideration.

The following quote by Rudolf Steiner, captures the spirit of Little Hearts Preschool in Cranleigh.
“Our highest endeavour must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility – these three forces are the very nerve of education.”

Nursery is usually the first place when children are independent from their immediate family. So we want to ensure that this time is as gentle, nurturing, adventurous and magical as possible for the children who attend our setting.

All too often, children are rushed through their childhood without the time for them to soak in the wonder of our natural world.

Our aim is to tap into each child’s inquisitiveness and deep routed need for curiosity. We do this by providing a holistic, creative and gentle environment.

We want our children to develop self-pride, an ability to bounce back from difficulties and to learn from mistakes so they can use them as valuable self-teaching moments.
